What is ARTBOURNE?
ARTBOURNE is an arts initiative run in alternate years at Wellesley College, Days Bay and supporting the Wellesley College Foundation.
In Year 1 (an even year), ARTBOURNE is a curated exhibition & sales of artworks of local & nationally regarded artists; in Year 2 ARTBOURNE is a month-long artist residency, followed by a residency and student art exhibition.
This year for ARTBOURNE 2018, Wellesley’s Centennial Hall and inner quad will be transformed into a contemporary art & sculpture gallery from 1 – 4 November. The aim is to foster established and emerging artists, and to showcase for sale their selected artworks. The artists donate a percentage of their artwork sales to the Wellesley Foundation’s scholarship campaign Promising Futures for Boys .This endowment fund supports boys who would not otherwise be able to experience a Wellesley education because of financial constraint.
As part of the 2018 ARTBOURNE exhibition, we are delighted to be including work by our 2017 Artist in Residence talented mixed media artist Richard Adams
